Über Nelson Homes Canada
Nelson Homes is a Canadian prefabricated home builder based in Alberta, founded in 1958 when Ray and Austin Nelson opened the Nelson Homes division of Nelson Lumber Company. The company builds four product lines:
- Ready-to-Move (RTM) homes: fully constructed at the factory and delivered on a truck, designed to sit on a full basement. - Prefabricated home packages: panelized systems delivered in pre-built sections for on-site assembly. - Self-Contained RTM homes: freestanding units that don't require a basement, suited to cottages and secondary dwellings. - Custom house plans.
Manufacturing runs out of two Alberta sales centres: Lloydminster (Highway 16 West, Kam's Industrial Park) and High River (Highway 2A). Nelson maintains dealers across Canada, and Quick Possession RTM inventory is available for immediate delivery within Alberta, Saskatchewan and parts of Manitoba. A separate United States operation runs at nelson-homes.com.

cueva
Cueva is a Canadian manufacturer specializing in modern, factory-built modular homes and accessory dwelling units (ADUs). Based in Nanaimo, British Columbia, the company aims to address contemporary housing challenges by offering high-performance, energy-efficient homes delivered ready for installation. Their approach emphasizes speed, cost-effectiveness, and quality control, presenting a compelling alternative to traditional on-site construction. Cueva focuses on sustainable architecture and efficient living spaces, delivering homes that are both design-forward and attainable. Cueva currently offers two primary models: the Solace, a 495 sq. ft. one-bedroom layout, and the Ember, a 495 sq. ft. two-bedroom layout. Both models are designed with open concepts, modern aesthetics, and space-efficient floorplans, ideal for compact living. The Solace is marketed as a flexible backyard suite or retreat, while the Ember is suited for families, workforce housing, or rental income. These homes feature premium interior and exterior finishes, including triple-pane aluminum windows, full quartz countertops, SPC (Stone Plastic Composite) flooring, high-efficiency HRVs, sloped metal roofs, and a choice of vinyl composite or aluminum panel siding, along with standard blinds and exterior lighting. The company's manufacturing process takes place in a controlled factory environment, ensuring precision and adherence to strict quality standards. Cueva homes are built to CSA A277 certification and achieve Step 4 energy efficiency, making them a sustainable and high-performing option. They utilize a High Strength Steel (HSS) structural system, which they highlight as superior to typical wood or light steel frames in standard manufactured homes. The entire project delivery, from financing approval to occupancy, is streamlined to an 8-12 week timeframe, with unit production itself taking approximately 3 weeks. Cueva homes are designed for a variety of use cases, including permanent workforce and community housing in rural and remote Canadian regions, secondary suites for multi-generational living, compact modern residences, and accommodations for resort and hospitality sectors. While their home packages feature fixed pricing starting at CAD$165,000, customers should note that this price excludes freight, applicable taxes, permits, site preparation, utility connections, and installation-related costs. Cueva provides a 2-5-10 New Home Warranty, underscoring their commitment to durability and customer satisfaction for homes delivered across Canada.
